Egypt In Pictures

Finally I have found some time to blog....
Yes Barb I know i'm slack ;-)
I won't bore you with a step by step recount of my time away, i'll just say it was absolutely fantastic.... climbing inside three different pyramids, standing between the feet of the Sphinx and a private visit to the Cairo Museum where I stood mesmerised by Tutankhamun's gold funeral mask for 20 mins all by myself!.... and at times hard to take.... Especially when it came to seeing kids living in poverty and the grimy rubbish strewn streets and canals.... so different from what we have in New Zealand.

I definitely preferred Aswan and Luxor to Cairo, the difference between the North and South was vast and being used to greener scenes (well not NZ at the moment but normally greener) rather than the dry, dirty, sandy outlook of a very crowded Cairo.
Did you know that over 20 million people reside in this city?...... We were reminded every time we headed out on the roads!

All of the huge hotels we stayed at were fabulous, here are the links if you want to see.
Le Meridien Pyramids , Mena House , Sonesta St George  But my favourite was our Nile Cruiser , the friendly, helpful staff made our cruise on this stunning ship very memorable.

Ready for a couple of photo's? (I just had 775 printed and that was after culling 300!)
The first is me outside the Cairo Museum, i asked the security gaurds if i could take a quick photo before leaving (cameras are forbidden and you go through three security points)
